Viking, a world leader in stylish and inclusive ocean and river cruising, launched a new ship in summer 2021 for its popular Magnificent Mekong exotic expeditions. The 80-passenger Viking Saigon offers immersive land and cruise adventures in the Mekong program. The river cruise portion of the culturally enriching itinerary sails between Kampong Cham, Cambodia, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.

“For many of our guests, Vietnam and Cambodia remain top destinations because of their significance in world history,” said Viking Chairman Torstein Hagen. “We have led the river cruise industry with our fleet development and experiences that bring travelers closer to the cultures of the world for more than two decades. This will be the most modern vessel on the Mekong and will feel like home to our loyal Viking guests who are familiar with the comfortable design of our ships.”

We are excited to sail on this ship to enjoy this exotic part of the world. We have enjoyed several great cruises with Viking on the oceans and rivers, including an amazing cruise to Norway, and this new Mekong River looks like it offers adventurous travelers a spectacular way to see this special part of the world.

We have been on a Mekong cruise to Cambodia and Vietnam and can attest to the life-changing experiences these journeys offer.
