Explora Journeys Unveils New Cruise with Destination Immersion
Explora Journeys has unveiled a lineup of itineraries that the luxury cruise line calls “Destination Experiences,” inviting travelers to immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of Central America, the U.S. and Canadian Pacific Coast and Hawaii between March and May 2024.
A 14-night journey from Amador, Panama, to Los Angeles (March 29 to April 12) visits places such as Quepos, Costa Rica, San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
These remote and exotic destinations give travelers an opportunity to get up close and spend more time immersed in the history and culture of the peoples of these Central American regions.
The six-night journey from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada, (April 12 to 18) features stops in San Francisco and Astoria, Oregon, which offers chances to enjoy the U.S. West Coast.
Cruisers will have the chance to absorb the energizing atmosphere of Hawaii during two extraordinary journeys: nine nights from Vancouver to Honolulu (April 18 to 27) and nine nights from Honolulu to Vancouver (April 27 to May 6).
Key ports of call include Hilo (Hawaii), Honolulu (Oahu), Kailua-Kona (Hawaii), Nawiliwili (Kauai), Los Angeles, San Francisco and Panama.
As travelers embark on these journeys, they will be able to immerse themselves in the heritage, culture and cuisine of these exciting places. From royal residences and volcanic landscapes to sandy beaches and pristine reefs, the experiences show off protected natural wonders, intriguing art and historical sites of Hawaii and the Pacific Coast.

Cabo San Lucas Temazcal Immersion: Cruisers can partake in a traditional Temazcal ceremony, an ancient healing ritual practiced by Mayans, Aztecs and Toltecs for millennia. Led by a shaman, participants enter the candlelit Temazcal, where water is poured onto hot stones, providing both physical detoxification and spiritual restoration. Post-ceremony, you’ll savor delicacies before unwinding at the luxury spa with hot tubs and cold plunges.
Hollywood Hills Hike in Los Angeles: Embarking on an invigorating hike through Griffith Park, travelers summit Mount Lee for an up-close encounter with the iconic Hollywood sign. Led by knowledgeable guides, you’ll learn about Hollywood's fascinating history, discover landmarks and famous studios, and indulge in a picnic lunch in Griffith Park with breathtaking views of the LA skyline.
Volcanic Marvels and a Celestial Odyssey in Hilo: Travelers can discover the enchanting Rainbow Falls nestled in lush Hawaiian rainforest, explore the Boiling Pots and the Kaumana Caves. The, venture into the captivating world of two of the Big Island’s five volcanoes with a National Park Service expert. There will be celestial observations during the day and night with state-of-the-art telescopes and highly experienced astronomers, offering views of galaxies, planets and more.
Behind the Scenes: Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and USS Missouri Memorial in Honolulu: Exclusive guided tours of historic hangars, outdoor exhibits and the Raytheon Pavilion await. You will visit the USS Missouri Memorial above and below deck, hearing captivating tales of WWII dogfights and civilian aviation history.
