5 Best Burger and Craft Beer Bars in Las Vegas

5/20/2019

Hundreds of high-end restaurants line The Strip and are nestled throughout Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas. You can find steakhouses, French bistros, seafood houses and Asian-fusion eateries. Establishments that boast award-winning Japanese or Italian cuisine and partnerships with celebrity chefs.

The numerous mouth-watering dining options make Las Vegas a haven for foodies and travelers looking to celebrate a special occasion with a special meal. But I've always possessed a rather simple palate, with a taste for a good old-fashioned juicy cheeseburger and a craft brew. In a place where you can lose your money fast, a delicious burger and a beer in a lively environment is always a winning combination.

I know many others have similar cravings, so here I offer our list of the five best burger and craft beer bars in Las Vegas.

Along with delicious burgers, Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen and Bar features 16 craft beers.

1. Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen and Bar

The celebrity chef's burger restaurant offers 200 seats in a 6,500 square-foot space located at the LINQ Hotel and Casino, right next to Carnaval Court at Harrah's Hotel and Casino. It offers a big outdoor patio with panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.

The spot is great for people watching and has a festive atmosphere and attentive service. Menu items include wings, tacos, small bites and shareable food items, along with an extensive variety of juicy signature Guy Fieri burgers. Try the Bacon Mac 'N' Cheese Burger, Prime Time American Kobe Burger or Tatted Up Turkey Burger, all loaded with cheese, toppings and sauces.

The bar also features 16 craft beers, a selection of Sonoma County wines and frozen shots.

2. LVB Burgers and Bar

This restaurant is located in The Mirage Hotel and Casino mid-strip on Las Vegas Boulevard. LVB Burgers and Bar has a selection of gourmet burgers alongside options like the Impossible Vegan Burger, turkey burgers and chicken and fish sandwiches, as well as salads and sides.

The restaurant is also known for its decadent milkshakes.

Craft beer choices include a favorite of ours, the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Other crafts on draft: Joseph James Pale Ale and Four Peaks Kilt Lifter.

3. Umami Burger, Beer Garden and Sports Book

Umami Burger serves up award-winning burgers from its home at the SLS Casino (2535 Las Vegas Boulevard South). Umami Burger features a beer garden that overlooks the Strip and a sports book so you can place a bet and watch your games as you nosh on gourmet burgers, creative shareable sides (like pork belly bao, loaded barbacoa nachos, salted Bavarian pretzel and ahi poke nachos) and wash it all down with a fine selection of beers.

Try the namesake Umami Burger (with shiitake mushroom, roasted tomato, caramelized onions and umami ketchup), Truffle Burger or Spicy Jalapeno Burger. Tasty craft beers include Goose Island IPA, Four Peaks Peach Ale, Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout and Elysian Space Dust IPA.

4. 595 Craft and Kitchen

This placed opened in 2017 at 4950 Rainbow Boulevard. It's a true microbrewery that appeals to beer nerds like me. The open-garage-style decor gives the place a relaxed and welcoming feel, and the bar offers 24 craft beers on tap. This is also a great place to catch the game on TV.

The restaurant offers an Asian-fusion menu, playing on owner Van-Alan Nguyen's Vietnamese heritage. Aside from the chili cheese burger, pork belly burger and Furikake tuna burger, you can bite into assorted bahn mi sandwiches and innovative sides like fried deviled eggs and Thai cashew hummus.

Beer flavors at 595 Craft and Kitchen include Wasatch Blueberry Hefeweizen, Big Dog's Hopical Storm, Oskar Blues Guns 'n' Rose and Founders Blushing Monk.

5. Holsteins Shakes and Buns

This bustling spot at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South) offers great-tasting — if quite expensive — hand-crafted burgers, a wide menu of shareable apps and snacks, cool alcohol-infused shakes and TVs showing sports. This is a restaurant has a high-energy and fun vibe with funky artistic decor.

Holsteins' menu features 12 different hand-crafted burgers like the Forager with a wagyu beef-mushroom patty, fried egg, marmalade onions and Swiss cheese. Or you can try the Billionaire burger with foie gras, frisee and truffle mayo or the Mangalitsa burger with a pork patty, kimchi and bulgogi.

Each burger comes with a recommended craft beer pairing, using varieties like Big Dog's Las Vegas American Ale, Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale or Joseph James Hop Box Imperial IPA.
