This is the summer of inflated gas prices and more-expensive travel. However, despite the rising costs, people won't be denied their vacations. We've done a little research with the help of hotel and property-management booking platform Eviivo, and we were able to curate a list of fantastic hotel options that will save you plenty of money without sacrificing your comfort. 
Check out these charming properties where that you can book for less than $145 nightly. We've listed seven spots in the U.S. and a special spa resort in Quebec, Canada.

Latchis Hotel in Brattleboro, Vermont ($140) 
With Grecian and Art-Deco inspired architecture, Latchis Hotel and Theater was built in 1938. Surrounded by green hills, small businesses and the historic downtown area, Latchis Hotel is a great place to stay for those who want to be transported to the past and explore a town where British author once lived and worked. In fact, he authored "The Jungle Book" while a resident of Brattleboro.

There also are non-themed rooms and suites available inside at the Old Jail Inn.
