San Juan's top street party, the San Sebastian Festival, has been held since 1970 as a celebration of a Christian martyr. The event routinely draws more than 200,000 people to the historic Old Town area for four days of parades, frolicking, live music and good times. The dates for this year's activities will be January 18 to 21, and the island is hoping that the San Sebastian Festival will help signify a return to more normal state for the residents and tourism after the tragic storms that ravaged this jewel of the Caribbean.
Colleen and I enjoyed this party once ourselves, with friends who live on the island. We think anyone would enjoy this spirited celebration in this special destination. Have you been? Who wants to dance and hang out at the atmospheric bars in Old Town with us?
