UnCruise Adventures Wilderness Explorer cruise ship in Alaska
The Wilderness Explorer will be home to wellness theme cruises in Alaska, departing on April 22 and April 29.
By John Roberts

Already the leader in active cruise travel and curating incredible voyages filled with daily activities and challenges that would appeal to any fitness and wellness fanatic, UnCruise Adventures is upping its game with new theme cruises. These first-of-their-kind wellness theme cruises give you even more opportunities to focus on your mind and body while exploring some of the most beautiful natural destinations in the world with UnCruise.

UnCruise Adventures' spring wellness cruises in Alaska feature certified trainers, nutrition and skincare experts and yogi masters. This year, three wellness theme cruises are planned in Alaska and one in Mexico's Sea of Cortes. Two experts will join passengers onboard for a week of wellness. Special programs will focus on fitness, nutrition and overall well-being. These fitness pros will customize activities based on their expertise.

In April, wellness cruises in Alaska feature certified trainers and experts. Like I said, this is a natural fit with UnCruise Adventures' active, outdoor adventure style. I sailed about a year ago in the Pacific Northwest and in Alaska on back-to-back voyages with UnCruise, and I was delighted with the overwhelming number of things we could do each day. We spent the days exploring the outdoors, visiting coves, bays, remote islands and towns for hiking, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, swimming and tons of animal sightings.

These wellness theme cruises look like an awesome way to further round out your days with fitness and wellness activities. Experts lead activities that range from dedicated core strengthening classes to hands-on cooking tutorials -- in addition to other active excursions such as hiking, bushwhacking, paddleboarding and kayaking, of course.

"A wellness theme is a perfect fit for our guests who enjoy being active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while on vacation," said Capt. Dan Blanchard, UnCruise Adventures' CEO.

UnCruise Adventures' fleet of small ships carry 22 to 88 people on adventure and river cruises lasting one to three weeks. All adventure activities and shore excursions are included.

UnCruise Adventures' Wellness Theme Cruises:

  • Safari Endeavour, December 2. Hosts: TBA

More UnCruise Theme Cruises:

Which theme cruise are you interested in? What types of adventure and theme cruises would you suggest that you don't see here?

I have been considering an Uncruise Adventures for a while now. I'm not sure Alaska would be my choice, but the Costa Rica and Panama theme cruise sounds like something I would enjoy.

Hi Debbra,
Have you been to Alaska yet? If you go, this is an incredible way to see everything. Costa Rica and Panama, obviously, are amazing, too. UnCruise really loves active adventures and knows what its doing when it comes to these expeditions.

Since I concentrate on tropical travel, I haven't had a real desire to visit Alaska, although the wildlife and landscape, glaciers, etc. would be tempting. Maybe someday! Right now, the tropical destinations are of most interest to me.

I didn't even know Uncruise offered a wellness cruise. Sounds like you really enjoyed it, and as someone who lived in AK for 10 years, good destination choice!

Yes. Alaska is awesome. And I always enjoy finding a way to stay active while traveling, and the state's wilderness is a perfect blend of beauty and challenges.

I'd never heard of UnCruise Adventures before but I'm loving the concept of theme cruises. Unfortunately these dates don't work for me but I like the idea of a Wellness Cruise, it's definitely something I'm going to keep in mind for the future, thanks.

Even if you can't do one of the specific theme cruises, all UnCruise voyages can put you to the test and have a natural focus on wellness and staying active. You should check them out.

It's interesting to see companies like UnCruise Adventures in the travel industry. I like how they combine a cruise vacation with fitness and wellness activities. I'm sure this appeals to many travelers who want to relax their mind and body on vacation by keeping active rather than lying around on a beach. Alaska seems like the perfect destination for this kind of cruise, too.

You got it! The ships aren't fancy at all, but the activities and itineraries -- plus all the amazing creatures you can see -- make it incredible for a person who loves the outdoors.
