Visitors to Norway can watch the sky from the comfort of a bed set on an open-air balcony with unrestricted views of the night sky, stars and Northern Lights. The new "Aurora in Bed" experience has been curated by Arctic travel specialists Off the Map Travel.
Check in to luxury accommodations at Villa Telegrafbukta, and coose to sleep indoors or outdoors while basking in the Northern Lights. Located in an exclusive area of Tromso, Norway, on the south side of Tromso Island, the Aurora in Bed program includes a private chef, personal hostess, 24/7 chauffeur-driven Tesla, and a private rooftop balcony with a king-sized bed, so you can spread out in comfort under the Arctic night sky.
"The Aurora bed is dressed for warmth and comfort with layers of sheep wool, pillows and goose down duvets. It's an amazing experience where you can lie back . . . in perfect communion with nature," says Jonny Cooper, luxury adventure travel expert and founder of Off the Map Travel.
Guests at the villa have the choice of sleeping outside on the balcony, in the adjoining indoor master suite with floor-to-ceiling sliding windows, or in one of three other rooms. The villa sleeps up to six people, and all rooms are appointed for luxury and comfort.
For even more luxury, schedule massage and beauty treatments at the villa or hire a helicopter or mini-yacht to explore the surrounding fjords. Dog sledding and snowmobiling are also available.
Offered from September to March, a four-day/three-night "Aurora in Bed" itinerary with Off the Map Travel starts at $3,089 per person, based on a group of six adults. This includes all transfers, unlimited use of the of the chauffeur-driven Tesla, three nights at Villa Telegrafbukta with private chef, breakfast, dinner and personal host/hostess 24/7 and adventures like dog sledding and a Northern Lights dinner cruise by luxury speedboat. International flights are additional. All itineraries can be customized to add additional days and nights.
