AmaWaterways Unveils Epic 46-Night, 7-Rivers Cruise Voyage

AmaPrima is one of four luxury AmaWaterways ships to be used for the line's record-breaking 46-night "Seven River Journey Through Europe."

AmaWaterways now offers a record-breaking river cruise itinerary. The line's new "Seven River Journey Through Europe" is an unparalleled 46-night dream voyage that takes you through 14 countries on four of AmaWaterways' award-winning ships.

We’ve loved sailing with AmaWaterways for many years, and the line and crew have always delivered exceptional travel experiences. It also has been one of the most-innovative travel companies, bringing a river cruise wellness program onto its ships, complete with experts who lead classes and a menu of healthy cuisine that really fits into the lifestyle that more and more cruisers are craving.

With this new ambitious itinerary, which is on sale now for the 2023 trip that will take up to 144 passengers on a memorable journey, AmaWaterways again is raising the bar for the river cruise industry. This itinerary has been specially curated by the line's co-founder and president, Rudi Schreiner, who is known as the "Godfather of River Cruising."

The voyage sets sail on June 1, 2023, beginning on the Seine River in France. And the journey through Europe will carry you along Europe's most legendary rivers, capturing the essence of each region. You'll get to immerse yourself in the unique history, cultural traditions, architecture, and of course, delectable cuisine and wine of each destination you explore.

AmaWaterways is offering more than 130 complimentary excursions, including a range of new tours and exclusive experiences. In addition to fine dining and hand-selected wines at every meal in multiple onboard venues, an onboard Wellness Host offers a variety of core strengthening, stretching and yoga classes. The Seven River Journey will also include transfers between ships, complimentary laundry service and all gratuities onboard and for shore excursions. A dedicated Cruise Manager will be your guide for all 46 nights of the journey.

Sailing on four elegantly appointed AmaWaterways ships, the full itinerary for this epic 2023 voyage includes:

  • June 1-8: Seine River on AmaLyra -- round trip from Paris

  • June 8-13: Saone and Rhone rivers on AmaKristina -- from Lyon to Tarascon, France

  • June 13 to July 4: Rhine, Moselle and Main rivers on AmaPrima; Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands -- from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, Netherlands to Vilshofen, Germany

  • July 4-17: Danube River on AmaVerde; Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania -- from Vilshofen, Germany to Giurgiu, Romania

Aside from the incredible length of this trip, we're especially excited for this voyage because you get to see some of the most sought-after destinations in Europe while visiting 17 UNESCO World Heritage sites and indulging in fantastic foods, beers and other flavors of these destinations. Essentiallym you get the best of Europe in a whirlwind six-week sailing.

Highlights include cruising through the romantic city of Paris, venturing to the historic D-Day landing beaches of Normandy, being treated to an exclusive visit to Lahneck Castle in Germany and visiting off-the-beaten-path wonders in countries such as Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania.

"At AmaWaterways, we continually anticipate the needs of our guests and always strive to provide innovative experiences that push industry standards," Schreiner says. "With the pent-up demand for travel, we are seeing and the increase in requests for our longer cruises.

"We feel this is the perfect time to introduce our incredible, all-new Seven River Journey. … I am confident that we will exceed expectations when we set sail in June 2023, creating unforgettable memories."

Could you imagine taking a river cruise this long? It certainly is going to be a special experience to see this much of Europe all in one shot.
